Portable Power
Power Distribution and Control has developed considerable expertise in portable power distribution systems.
We have developed several systems designed for particular applications. These can be customised to order or we can design and build for a specific requirement.
Our portable power systems include:
Marina Utility Power Centre
The Marina Utility Power Centre is made of marine grade aluminum that is designed to accommodate any specification – dimension and colour. The robust tower features top illumination for night-time safety, water tap, gas connection (if required), and any combination of power and telecommunication outlets. Each unit has its own switchboard with earth leakage protection for complete safety and isolation of the power supply. The same technology can be used to design power utility centres for camping grounds, market places, public utilities and the construction industry.
Nomad Power Distribution System
When the film company making ‘King Kong’ urgently required a portable power and distribution centre we were able to call on our expertise to satisfy their need. These film unit centres proved so successful that we have developed them into the Nomad range . . . the power centres that can go anywhere.
The Nomad range of power centres provide a temporary power solution for construction sites, outdoor events and anywhere that distribution of portable generated power is required.
Each product in the range has the flexibility to be used as a stand-alone centre or interconnect with any of the other products.
All of the Nomad products are supplied with a range of single phase outlets – for power tools, lighting, etc. – and three phase 400V outlets for welders, motors and machinery.
All of the socket outlets are RCCB protected to provide personal safety protection.
Field Power Distribution System
Designed to meet the specific needs of the New Zealand defence forces, PDC’s Field Power Distribution System was awarded the 1999 Defence Industry Committee Award for Excellence. The lightweight unit allows the safe distribution of electricity from generators to supply light and power to troops in field hospitals, tents and command posts.
